Dr. Momont was born in Wausau, Wisconsin and grew up in the Midwest. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and then travelled to Puerto Rico to volunteer with AmeriCorps. She returned to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and received her medical degree in 2007.
Following a one year internship at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, she moved to Michigan for her training in ophthalmology. Dr. Momont completed her residency at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center where she served as chief resident during her third year. She stayed at the Kellogg Eye Center for a fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment disease. Her research interests include outcomes of complicated glaucoma surgeries and optic nerve structure as it relates to the cornea. Dr. Momont specializes in glaucoma and cataracts and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society.
